George Calvin Loman, lifelong Seminole County resident, passed away at his son’s home in Haileyville, Oklahoma on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the age of 93 years. Calvin was the son of Chris and Ethel Mae (Halk) Loman, born on May 6, 1928, in the Salem community near Henryetta, Oklahoma. His family moved to Seminole County, where he was brought up and attended the old Butner schools. He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served for two years in Japan and China. He married Ellen Joyce Lowe on June 12, 1951, in Van Buren, Arkansas. He worked in the oil field and at the glass plant in Henryetta.
