Betty Jean Gregory

Betty Jean Gregory, long-time resident of Shawnee, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. She was 90 years old.

Betty was born on January 14, 1932 in Vamoosa, Oklahoma to her parents, Leonard L. and Rachael Scroggin. She graduated from Vamoosa High School and was the salutatorian of her class. Betty worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas from November 1977 until her retirement in December of 2013 as Senior Repair Technician. She was a great friend to many and was always willing to help her family, friends, and neighbors in times of need. She enjoyed gardening and loved all animals, especially her cats.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Kathleen, Gaylon, Bobby Dean, and Wayne, and one niece, Janice Newcomb.

She is survived by her four children, Jimmy Wayne Gregory, Debra Kay Stacy, and twins, Betha and Kevin Gregory, two granddaughters, Brandy Smith and Skylar Gregory-Betancourt, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Jennifer and Milo Fogle and their three sons of Midwest City.

She will be greatly missed.
