Larry Jack Hampton

Larry Jack Hampton passed away on January 27, 2022. He was born on July 18, 1943, to William and Ozeal Hampton in Shawnee, OK. Larry has two daughters, Lisa Turpin and Rachael Stallings, from his previous marriage. On April 18, 1986, Larry married the love of his life, Linda Hampton. With this marriage he gained four sons—Randal Hallum, Mark Hallum, Cory Hallum and Ryan Hallum.

Larry attended Shawnee High School graduating in 1961. He served in the US Army from 1962 until 1965 and was stationed in Germany. He went on to receive an Association of Science degree in Chemistry from Oklahoma City Community College. Larry was employed by Kerr-McGee Corporation from 1966 to 1986. He then worked as a consultant for Sequoyah Fuels Corporation from 1986 to 1988. In 1988 he began working for the Gary Williams Refinery until his retirement in 2009.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, William Hampton and Ozeal (Hines) Hampton, bother Bill Hampton and infant brother Jimmy Don Hampton.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Hampton, his children Lisa Amber (Hampton) Turpin and husband Gil, Cherie Rachael (Hampton) Stallings and husband Bryan, Randal Hallum and wife Debbie, Mark Hallum, Cory Hallum, Ryan Hallum. Grandchildren— Seth Hallum, Rachel (Hallum) Pate and her husband Cansas, Jessie (Turpin) Williamson and wife Kelsie, Tyler Turpin, Halie (Gates) Tamura and husband Trent, Emily (Daughertry) Buffington and husband Sean, Corbin Hallum, Quaid Hallum, Channing Hallum and great-grandchildren Thatcher Tamura, Treyson Tamura, Claire Tamura, Clarke Willamson, Brady Pate and Malachi Buffington. He is also survived by his brother Bob Hampton, sister Doris Hurst and her husband Jack and his sister-in-law Carolyn (Brown) McDaniel.

Services will be at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole on Tuesday, February 1, at 2:00. Officiating will be pastors Lamarla Cook and Mark Watson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in memory of Larry to the Seminole First United Methodist Church or make a contribution to a charity of their choice.
