Larkin S Byrd Jr was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He attended grade school and Wewoka High School. Byrd attended St Josephus Baptist Church until he left for the Marines. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 27 years, Wewoka Hospital after the military, Myers Mortuary after retirement and now serves as the Assoc Pastor at St Joseph Baptist Church, Wewoka, Oklahoma for over the past 20 years. Byrd served on the Wewoka School Board for 15 years, the Douglas Alumni School Board and was a Masonic member. In the late 80’s he moved back to Wewoka to take care of his mother.
