Ann Patterson
Patterson Doris Ann Patterson, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, July 12, 2024, in Edmond.
Ann, the daughter of Hearl and Ova Marie (Smith) Perkins, was born April 23,1934 in Blue, Oklahoma. She graduated from Achille High School in 1952 and continued her education at the University of Oklahoma. On August 11, 1962, she married Bob Patterson in Overland Park, Kansas. She and Bob settled in Seminole, where they owned and operated the local GMC/ Buick/ Pontiac dealership and Patterson Auto Mart. After seventeen years in Seminole, they moved to Shawnee. Ann enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and playing bridge. She was also an avid reader. She and Bob were active members of the Seminole First Baptist Church. After moving to Shawnee, they attended Shawnee First Baptist Church and later Immanuel Baptist Church. An active member in her church, Ann enjoyed singing in the church choir. A caring and generous person, Ann served the city of Shawnee and the surrounding communities in the Volunteer Auxiliary at the Shawnee Hospital for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ova Marie and Hearl Moberly Perkins; six siblings and their spouses; a granddaughter, Rebecca Kutait; and a son-in-law, Brad Culver.
Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob Patterson, of Edmond; daughters and sons-inlaw, Pam and Harold Nicholson, of Derby, KS, Lisa Kutait, of Edmond, LuAnn and Rocky Nystrom, of Goodyear, Arizona, and Lauri and Tim Prince, of Edmond; son and daughter- in-law, Richard and Cammi Patterson of Texas. She was also blessed with 18 grandchildren, along with numerous great grandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren.
Services will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Tim Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
