Shirley Nelson

Shirley Faye (Foster) Nelson, age 77, passed away October 5, 2020 at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

She was born October 22, 1942 in Seminole to parents Gilbert Ray Foster and Alice Lavaughn (Pharr) Foster.

She received her GED and attended college. She worked as a freelance social science and market research interviewer and retired in 1996.

Shirley is survived by her son David Lee Strickland of Tacoma, Washington, her daughters; Denise Strickland of Seminole, Oklahoma and Debra Gaye Poarch, her sisters; Patricia Kaye Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma and Cynthia Maye Easter of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, eighteen grandchildren, eighteen and counting great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild;

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Darrell Joe Strickland.

A graveside service for Shirley will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Cook Cemetery located at Hwy 177 and Cook Rd. near Asher, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
