Johnny Sylsberry
Johnny E. Sylsberry, 63, longtime Seminole resident, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Johnny was born September 19, 1956 in Davenport, Oklahoma to John Ervin and Betty Jo (Mosely) Sylsberry. Johnny came from a large family of eight. He was raised as a Christian and was a member of the Baptist Church. Johnny lived in Davenport, Oklahoma and graduated from Davenport High School.
Johnny served his country in the United States Army. He was an expert rifleman in the service and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
Johnny started in the HVAC business 30 years ago with his brother, starting Triple “S” Heat and Air and later started working with his son, Mike at Metro Heat and Air. He was very gifted in his technical and repair knowledge in his service to his customers.
Johnny will be remembered as a very kind and generous person that was loved and respected by many. He was an active outdoorsman, avid hunter, gun collector and loved doing wood work and building things in his spare time.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; John and Betty Sylsberry, his brother Jerry King and his sisters Donna Clark and Shirley Burhenn.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories; his children Mike Sylsberry and his wife Tasha of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jeremy LaDuke of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and his spouse David, Amber Bowling-Norman of Seminole, Oklahoma and Justin Sylsberry of Addison, Texas; his brothers; Larry Sylsberry and his wife Angela of Prague, Steve Sylsberry of Seminole, Oklahoma, his sisters; Melva Evans of Edmond, Oklahoma and Deanne Webb of Guthrie, Oklahoma and grandchildren; Madison Sylsberry, Landon Bowling and Tinley Sylsberry all of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Johnny’s children have planned a Celebration of Life Service for Johnny, at 10:30 A.M., Saturday June 13, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
