Wanda Lou Pullin Speaker Rider
Wanda Lou Pullin Speaker Rider went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2022 surrounded by her family in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Wanda was born July 8, 1931 in Punkin Center, Oklahoma to William Sherman Pullin and Viola (Hudson) Pullin.
After Graduating High School, she became a pioneer in female managers and won innumerable awards during her 27 year career at Sears, retiring as a Sales Manager. Wanda was extremely proud of the birth of her children, her loving family, her years spent in Venezuela, and her church family at St. Paul’s United Methodist. Anyone could describe her as sweet, spunky, ornery, caring, and a loving woman. Wanda loved to spend time sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, bowling, and fishing.
Wanda always loved to take care of people. When her great grandchildren came to visit, they would make friends with the children in the neighborhood and she would make them grilled cheese, even if it might sometimes have had a napkin instead of cheese on accident. She always kept a basketball hoop in her driveway for the neighborhood kids to play with and told them where the sodas were in the garage. Once you became part of the family, you were generally always family to Wanda no matter the circumstances.
Wanda met and married her husband William Rider October 4, 1975 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They loved to fish and spend time together. They also loved to take in any stray dog that came to their property and cared for it as a pet.
Wanda is preceded in death by her father William Sherman Pullin; mother Viola (Hudson) Pullin; husband Don E. Speaker; husband William “Bill” Rider; son Dennis Terry Eugene Speaker; granddaughter Shayla Speaker; sisters Nadine Hoover, Ella Ramsey, and Marcene Baysinger.
