On Saturday, February 26, 2022, Jerry Carroll Howell, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 82.

Jerry was born February 18, 1940 in Mena Arkansas, to Edith (Standridge) and John Howell. He graduated from Capital Hill High School in OKC in 1958, and in the fall of that year he attended the University of Oklahoma. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Central State University in 1965. He married Linnie Hoover in 1972 and together they raised their three children, Doug Howell, Rebecca Kephart, and Eddie Kephart.

Jerry was an avid pilot, earning an instrument and commercial pilot rating. He enjoyed the Seminole Municipal Airport, which his father John Howell managed for many years. Jerry had many stories to tell of the interesting places he went and people he met.

Jerry was an artist, a wood worker, a gardener, a photographer, but mostly a devoted son and a good friend.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linnie. He is survived by his three children, three grandchildren, Lauren Howell, Kacie (Kephart) Baker and husband Kevin, and Joshua Kephart. He is also survived by his aunt Juanita Gore and other family and friends.

Jerry will be available for viewing Monday, March 7, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 7, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. at Rest Haven Memory Garden in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
