Brook Maud resident Forrest Leroy Brooks, passed away at the age of 87 on October 17, 2024. He was born December 11, 1936, in Maud to William Lee and Beulah Belle (Choat) Brooks. Leroy joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 19 and was awarded the good conduct medal and honorable discharge after four years of service. He then spent two years in the reserves until officially retiring in the fall of 1962.

Leroy is survived by his children; Jeff Brooks, Cheryl Bailey and Jim, Joseph Johnson and Kelley, Trece Eaks and Miles, brother Donald Brooks and Betty, sister Carol Johnson, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Beulah, brothers Avery Leon Brooks and James Ralph Brooks.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 P.M., November 9 at the Lord’s Community Church in Seminole with Randy Lehman officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
