Griffin Seminole resident, Christine Carmen Griffin, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 in Shawnee at the age of 100.

Christine, the daughter of Vilas and Natha (Scivally) Murphy, was born February 19, 1924, in Lane, Oklahoma. Christine married J.D. Griffin, they made their home in Seminole. Christine was a home maker, who loved football, particularly OU football, as well as OU softball. She was also an avid reader, who loved to cook for her family and friends. Christine was a faithful member of the Seminole First Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.D. Griffin; a son, John “Rusty” Griffin; three sisters and one brother; and a daughter-inlaw, Jana Griffin.

Christine is survived by her sons, Jeff and Angie Griffin, of Seminole, and Mike and Trisha Griffin, of Wolf and daughter-in-law, Susie Griffin; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheri Griffin, Leslie and Jeroid Berry, Josh and Tricia Griffin, Brent and Feliza Griffin, David and Lindsey Griffin, Paige and Marisol Griffin, and Lane Griffin; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous great great-grandchildren; a special niece, Saundra Case; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Matt Pollock officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
