Kevin Stitt, honors Oklahomans who have spent their lives going above and beyond to protect Oklahomans and preserve public safety. At the event, the governor gave out the Oklahoma Medal of Honor, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Oklahoma Red Heart and the Oklahoma Blue Heart awards.

Read moreKonawa Public Schools and their supporters are looking forward to a weeklong series of events in observation of Football Homecoming, beginning Monday, Oct. 28 and continuing through the game against Rush Springs Friday night. There will also be a number of events on Saturday for the alumni that will be in town. The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “Y2K,” and the fun begins Monday morning, Oct. 28. Students are encouraged to “Dress Like It’s Your Last Day On Earth.” This can include wearing something that the student has never had the chance to wear before, or come in their pajamas. There will be a kickoff assembly at 9:00 a.m. The celebration will continue Monday evening with a Kickball Tournament at 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
