Seminole County has experienced an additional death due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the latest report from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). This was the first death from COVID-19 in Seminole County since the May 1 report from the OSDH. That brings the countywide total to 30 confirmed positive cases, including three deaths and 22 recoveries.

Read moreThe Seminole Splash Pad is back up and running! After experiencing a few technical difficulties in the form of leaks and pump issues earlier this week, the splash pad was forced to briefly shutdown on Tuesday, June 9. However, it was back open the following morning thanks to the work of the Seminole Water Department and Seminole Chemical. The two came together in order to get the Splash Pad back in operating condition for the kids of Seminole.

They bought the building from the Seminole Area Community Development department by way of a lease purchase in April of 2018. The purchase was for a total of $900,000, which Seminole Public Schools has agreed to pay out through a 12-year agreement of 144 payments. As of right now, 25 of those payments have been made.

It took place on the football field and graduates were allowed 10 admissiongranting wrist bands to give to loved ones.
