“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die he shall live” John 11:25 KJV J.D. Stastny, age 82, longtime Prague, Oklahoma resident, gained his wings on May 3, 2020 surrounded by his wife and son.

He was born March 25, 1938 in Prague, Oklahoma to parents Charles Max Stastny and Verna Ella (Dukes) Stastny. J.D. grew up in Paden, Oklahoma and graduated from Paden High School.

J.D. worked as a tool pusher for Morgan Well Service in Prague for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved his horses and other animals and being outside. He loved his family very much. He was a member of Highway Baptist Church in Little, Oklahoma.

J.D. married Terri Laine Morris on January 20, 1996 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

J.D. is survived by his wife Terri and son Nathan of the home, his daughter; Debbie Selzer and her husband Jay of Lindsey, Oklahoma, one son in law Wes Willms of Kingfisher Oklahoma his sister; Erma Gene Dawson of Paden, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Jonathon and Kristen Selzer of Ninnekah, Oklahoma and Emery and Heather Selzer of Lindsey, Oklahoma, granddaughter Amber Willms of Kingfigher Oklahoma and Taylor and Kortney of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Great-Grandchildren; Tristan Morrison, Landon, Owen and Declan Williams of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Grace and Oliver Selzer of Bradley, Oklahoma and Scarlett, Loretta and EJ Selzer of Lindsey, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter; Jaylena Willms.

Family visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2020 and public viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Graveside services for J.D. will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Czech Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma with Brother Carl Whitfield officiating.

Casket bearers will be Nathan Stastny, Stephen Unruh, Kellie Joplin, Richard Morphis, Bobby Gene Dawson and Danny Morgan.

Honorary bearers will be Mickey Lay, Ken Jackson and Andy Bowman.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in J.D.’s memory for the Falls Creek Fund at the Highway Baptist Church, 11341 Oklahoma Highway 99, Seminole, Oklahoma 74868. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
