Paxton Comstock

Longtime Wewoka resident Paxton “Sonny” Comstock, age 91, departed this life on Monday February 17, 2020 with his family by his side.

He was born in Calvin, Oklahoma May 25, 1928 to the late Bryce Comstock and Ora Dee Potter Comstock.

He married Voletha Marie “Dolly” Howell on July 20, 1948 in Wewoka, OK.

Paxton served 22 years with the US Air Force as a flight engineer during the Vietnam War and later worked for Wewoka Public School as Director of maintenance for fifteen years.

Preceding Paxton in death are his parents, brother, Denysol Comstock and sister Delores Hayes.

Survivors include wife, Voletha “Dolly” Marie Comstock of the home, daughter, Donna Cofer and husband James Cofer Jr. of Holdenville, OK, son, James Bryce Comstock of Marietta, OK, grandchildren, James Cofer III and Amy of Wewoka, OK, Samye Jo Comstock of Tulsa, OK and great-grandchild, Xoiegh Jane Comstock of Tulsa, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM February 20, 2020 at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Pastor Frank Moppin officiating and burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
