Frances Mayfield

Frances Marie (Hair) Mayfield, age 84 and a longtime resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life Wednesday morning, January 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at the First Baptist Church located at 129 S. Broadway in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Pastor Mike Cox will officiate.

Frances was born October 13, 1935 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Oscar Davis Hair and Cordie (Counts) Hair. She graduated from Wewoka High School and worked as a secretary for the Konawa school system for many years. She married Hoyte Mayfield April 14, 1956 in Wewoka.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Hoyte Mayfield of the home; one daughter, Cindy Burris of Konawa; one granddaughter, Stephanie Mann and husband, Jeremy; and three great grandchildren, Taylor Burris, Mason Burris, and Caden Burris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Cordie Hair; all of her siblings; and one grandson, Steven Burris.
