Peggy Bryant Hobgood

Hobgood Peggy Bryant Hobgood born November 25, 1947 to Haskell and Hazel Bryant was the youngest of 7 children. Peggy went home on May 15, 2024 with her daughters by her side.

Peggy married Jerry “Sonny” Hobgood in November 1968. She was an IBEW worker for Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent where she retired after 30 years. She was then a cook for Piedmont School for 15 years.

Peggy is preceded in homecoming by her mother, father, husband, Jerry “Sonny” Hobgood; siblings, Louise Beshears, Naomi Wilson, Haskell Bryant Jr., McCoy Bryant; granddaughter, Britanie Hobgood; grandson, Brian Young Jr.

She is survived by sister, Deanna Curtain; brother, Paul Bryant and wife Jan; daughters, Charlene and her husband Louie Richards, Monica and her husband Robert Rouner; granddaughters, Leslie and her husband Aaron Maytubby, Jesslyn and her husband Stephen Timperley; great-grandchildren, TaVeon Berry, Abi Driver, AK Maytubby, Bella Driver, Jaxen Young and Eloise Timperley, along with many beautiful bonus children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Peggy was one of a kind. There will never be another like her. She will be missed by many as she was loved by many.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka, OK.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Esau Valdez Gomez officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.

Pallbearers: Stephen Timperley, Robert Rouner Jr., Dominic Berry, Aaron Maytubby, Mac Maqbool, Tyler Crowson.

Honorary Pallbearers: TaVeon Berry, Robert Rouner, Louie Richards, Keith Ashton, Dennis Bryant.
