Sharon Taylor
Sharon Kay Taylor passed peacefully from this world on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Sharon is survived by three brothers Jerry Dyer of Annville KY, Kenny Dyer of Sterling, VA and Thom Dyer of Sterling, VA, her daughter, Carol Lloyd of Seminole, OK, son Tony Edmonson of Bethany, OK, Wayne Edmonson of Inola, OK, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Taylor, father Wayne Dyer, mother Alta Dyer, and her son Larry Edmonson, Jr. Sharon was born on May 31, 1949, in Kirksey, KY to Wayne and Alta Dyer. Sharon married Larry Edmonson on January 17, 1966, and had four children, Larry, Jr., Carol,
Anthony, and Wayne. The family relocated from Kentucky to Wewoka, OK in 1977. Sharon devoted her life in service to Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Wewoka Church of Christ and served at every opportunity, including teaching Sunday school, and singing at church events and funerals. Larry and Sharon divorced in 1995.
Sharon moved to Edmond, OK in 1995 and cared for her mother, Alta, until she passed away. Sharon married Jim Taylor on October 2, 2020. Jim and Sharon enjoyed traveling and lived in Arkansas, Iowa, and finally settled in at a retirement resort in Rio Hondo, TX. They found many friends in Rio Hondo that became a second family to them. Sharon had a lifelong love of music. She loved to sing karaoke and released an album of songs she wrote called “Taylor Made” featuring the song “Taylor Made” about the love she shared with Jim.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Matthews
Funeral Home with the family will be present from 5:00 – 7:00.
Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Matthews Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Little Cemetery in Little, Oklahoma, 11522 OK-99, Seminole, OK 74868.
