Alma Jean Mathis, Maud resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at her home, at the age of 89. Alma was born on April 27, 1934 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Alex Haas and Pauline (Greenwald) Haas. She married J. C. Mathis on January 23, 1956 in El Sobrante, California.
Alma is survived by her son, Steven Mathis of Simi Valley, CA; daughters, Paula Jean McFarland of Ada, OK and Sue Caldwell of Wolf, OK; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Mathis; parents, Alex and Pauline Haas; brothers, Alexander Haas and Richard Haas and sister, Patricia Haas.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Vamoosa Cemetery at the pavilion with Pastor Linda Crews officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
