Jacob Skyler Washington entered Heaven’s Gates on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the age of 33. He was born on January 4, 1990, to Georgia Nicole Washington and Jeffrey Rogers in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was the first baby born in the 90’s in Seminole County. He spent much of his life in Seminole and attended Seminole Public Schools. He was very active in sports and graduated from Seminole High School in 2008. Jacob had many hobbies and was active doing things outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and he had a special love for riding dirt bikes. He was talented in all things he did. He excelled in many trades like welding and mechanics. His passion was framing homes, buildings, venues and was the best around at doing so. Eventually being known as a “Jack of all Trades” and opened his own construction and framing company, Copperhead Construction, LLC in 2021.
Jacob loved his family. He loved spending time with his wife and children. He taught them the things that fathers teach their kids growing up. He enjoyed his Dad’s daily visits to watch Jacob play the drums while Jozie danced. He enjoyed taking his daughter Skyler shopping. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his son Baby Jake and building dirt bike ramps.
Jacob is survived by his wife; Mariah Knowles, two daughters; Skyler Washington and Jozie Washington, son; Jacob “Baby Jake” Washington and his soon to be born baby boy Colt Washington, his parents; George and Barbara Washington, Georgia Washington and Jeffrey Rogers, his brothers and sisters; Tyler and Emily Grandstaff, Chelsea Washington and Floyd House, Jacie Satawake and Michael Spencer, Jaxie Satawake, Derek Satawake, Morgan Satawake, Damian Burr, John Thomas (Jack) Rogers, Joshua Alexander Rogers and Jace Michael Rogers and the mother of his oldest daughter, Skyler; Jade Chambless.
Jacob had many siblings, not biological, but they all grew up in the Washington home on F Street as one big family. He is survived by many parents who may technically be aunts or uncles; “Mom” Aunt Ella Jackson and husband James Jackson, uncles (brothers) Shaun Washington and wife Holly, Luke Washington and wife Gwen, Michael Washington, Rodney Washington, Curtis Wood, Todd Staley and Chris Lonechief, Cousins or “Siblings”; LeighAnne Smith, Siah Scott, Sierra Staley, Beau Staley and wife Haley, Vernon Staley, Amber Washington, Billy Brent Washington, Autumn Washington, Mariah Washington, Hunter Washington, Rebecca Lonechief, “Little” Chris Lonechief and wife Harley, Megan Ott, Kayla Ott and Shane Ott and Chuck Lonechief and many other family members and friends. He had two special men in his life that helped raise him; Jackie Satawake and Jayson Burr “Pink Dad”. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; John and Amanda Wood and Ellen Rae Hunter and Thomas Gerald Rogers, uncle; Johnny Ray Wood, and cousins; Brandon Wood, Summer Gokey and Dickey Wood (Byrd).
The family will receive visitors at Swearingen Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Thlocco and Jarrod Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Bird Creek in Sperry, Oklahoma.
Casket bearers will be Dylan Stafford, Justin Clark, Curtis Smith, Josh Morris, Scott Knowles and Brad Heinzig. The Honorary bearers will be Tyler Grandstaff, Floyd House, Michael Spencer, Beau Staley, Vernon Staley, Brandon Smith, Timothy Wood and John Wood.
