54.

Billy was born March 18th, 1965 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Everett Wood of Konawa, Oklahoma and Nita K. Jacobs of Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Billy attended Wewoka and Bowlegs public schools and later received his GED. He was raised in the Wolf area and was a member of the Tusekia Harjo Band. He went to culinary school in Arkansas and was a culinary chef. He was a Cook, short order/dietician for Seminole Nation Older American Program for 12 years.

He was a member of the Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.

Billy was a member of the Army National Guard discharged July 20, 1992.

He loved to do body work as a hobby. Billy also worked for the Phillips Funeral Service for many years setting tents. He loved raising fighting chickens, dogs, Tennessee Walker horses, fishing and hanging out with his nephews and nieces and watching their games.

Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents Alex and Joan Burgess and grandmother Leah Wood and longtime companion Roberta Bemo.

He is survived by his parents Nita K. Jacobs and Everett Wood, children; Anna Silverhorn of Lawton, Oklahoma, Billy R. Wood, Jr., of Portland, Oregon, Bruce Wood of Portland, Oregon, 4 grandchildren, stepfather Frank Walters of Allen, brothers; Anthony “Buddy” Wood of Holdenvillle, Russell Berryhill and wife Tamara of Okemah, Tommy Overbey and wife Michelle Over-bey of Seminole, sister, Lydia Overbey of Holden-ville, brother Mike Wood of Konawa, 8 nieces, 5 nephews, 7 great nieces, 9 great nephews, 5 aunts, 2 uncles, 1 great uncle, 1 great aunt and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wake service was held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday September 6, 2019 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Was taken to mother’s home 4:00 PM Saturday September 7, 2019 until Monday at noon then returning to Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service was held 2:00 PM Monday September 9, 2019 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Rev. Claude A. Burgess officiating assisted by Anthony D. Wood.

Pallbearers are Anthony D. Wood, Jr., Buddy Wood, Jimmie Wood, Frank Walters, Claude A. Burgess and Ron West.

Honorary pallbearers are Nate Buck, Walker Williams, Bubba West, Rusty Berryhill, Russell Berry-hill, Jr., Andy Berryhill and Tommy Overbey.

Interment will follow at Burgess-Harjo Cemetery in Wolf, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holden-ville, Oklahoma.
