Kevin Kincade

Papaw, Daddy, Son, and Best Friend are all words that describe Kevin Kincade. He had a larger than life personality and a laugh that will always be remembered. Kevin Lynn Kincade departed this life on Saturday June 25, 2022.

Kevin was born on April 10, 1963 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to parents Rowdy and Marilyn (Smith) Kincade. He spent his younger years in Wewoka, Oklahoma with brothers Keith and Kerry, as well as many good friends. Kevin loved to spend time hunting and fishing with his Papaw, Memaw, and cousins in Lamar, Oklahoma. Skiing at Wewoka Lake, often “barefoot skiing” with his mom behind the wheel, was a favorite pastime of his. Kevin played baseball and football in school and was an active member of the Wewoka FFA chapter, showing cattle and pigs. Kevin’s future career would not have been possible if it weren’t for the efforts of his Ag teacher, Clifford Christ. At 15 years old, Clifford encouraged him to become a certified Artificial Insemination Technician. That time with Clifford was forever imprinted in Kevin’s memory. He went on to play baseball and football at the collegiate level, making friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Following his marriage in 1985, Kevin welcomed daughters Kendell and Khanaa in 1990 and 1991. A better Daddy, there could not have been. He was their fierce protector, dramatic storyteller, and shoulder to cry on whenever it was needed. No matter how old they were, Kevin defended, protected and encouraged his girls at every turn. He raised his family on his ranch just north of Seminole. Kevin taught his girls to ride horses, shoot guns, and run wild through the country just like he loved to do. Kevin’s house was open to any and all who needed him. He will be remembered for making big breakfasts in the morning and “holding court” late at night. When his girls married, Kevin gained not only sons, but best friends. Brett and Ryon worked with and learned from Kevin, gaining valuable skills each step of the way. He always made sure that they knew just how much they meant to him.

The last decade of his life may have been the most memorable. Kevin spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren. Lynzi, Sadie, and Rowelz directed his steps, often calling for tractor rides, kidnapping, and swimming in the pond. Rowelz was “Papaw’s Boy” and never missed a chance to go on a river fishing trip. Trips to school with Papaw, riding Sonny BoBo and Lovey Dovey, and driving lessons were big hits with Lynzi and Sadie. The love between the kids and their Papaw will never be erased. From their first BB Guns and pocket knives to riding the 4-wheeler and camping in the pasture, Papaw provided many exciting memories for his grand babies.

Kevin had big plans for the next few years. After a lifetime spent as a rancher and AI technician, he and his friend Don Vick, Sr. were preparing for an exciting adventure in Africa. They had been asked to spend the next 2 years facilitating a cattle breeding and animal husbandry program in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Kevin and Don would have been training technicians in Artificial Insemination and teaching the people how to “breed, feed, and eat a better beef”. After several months of planning, they were set to leave this fall.

Preceding Kevin in death are his Grandson Blake Austin Miller, Grandparents Leroy and Sylvia (Goodson) Smith, Grandparents Luther and Hattie (McCollum) Kincade, and one uncle, Doug Smith.

Kevin is survived by daughters, Kendell and Brett Miller, Khanaa and Ryon Langrehr; grandchildren, Lynzi Hayze Langrehr, Sadie Blake Miller, and Rowelz Ryon Langrehr; parents, Rowdy and Marilyn (Smith) Kincade; brothers, Keith Kincade and Kerry and Jennifer (Tucker) Kincade; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many cousins who loved him dearly.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Steven Edwards, Sean Brewer, Don Vick Sr., Jack Lightfoot, Keith Grissom, Kraig Van Brunt, Chris Cook and Carl Capps. Honorary casket bearers will be Russell Reed, Reggie Parker, Floyd Snider, Jr., Steve Foster, Quinton Harris, Clayton Bynum, Ryan Christ, Walt Emory and Caleb Watts.

Funeral Services will be held at Wewoka Church of Christ on Saturday July 2, 2022 at 10:00AM, with James Branscum officiating. Kevin will be laid to rest at his ranch following the memorial. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
