Mildred Story

Mildred Christine Markwell Autry Story was born June 30, 1931 to George Christopher Markwell and Lora LaVera Crosswhite Markwell. Mildred left this world to be with her father on March 12, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.

She was born and lived her whole life around Wewoka. She worked at Roberts Drug in Wewoka for 37 years and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Tom Autry, one brother Gene Markwell and one sister, Dorothy Castor.

She leaves behind her husband, Charles Story, two step-children, Ricky and Karen Yukon, Oklahoma and three sisters, Irene Whitehead of Yukon, Sharon Bane of Seminole and Kathy Moore and Ronnie of Edmond, Oklahoma, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka. Officiating will be Brother Bill Chesser. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Morland, David Castor, Richmond Kelley, Greg Moore, Rodney Whitehead and Jerry Grispby. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Bane, Levon Hightower and Jerry Bunyard.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
