Matthew Cox

Matthew Jay Cox passed away at the age of 39, on January 2, 2022, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was born September 14, 1982, in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Harley Dale Cox and Brenda Jean (Osbon) Cox. He attended Carl Albert High School in Midwest City and later received his GED.

Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout.

Matthew is survived by his father; Dale Cox, his mother; Brenda Cox, his wife; Michele Cox, his sons; Braden G. Cox, Mason A. Cox and Jaxon W. Cox, his daughter; Dakota L. Cox, his brother; Jeremy Cox and his wife Tiffani, grandchild; and three step-children. He was preceded in death by his brother Chris Cox, his paternal grandparents; Harley and Nora Cox, one aunt; and two uncles.

Public viewing for Matthew will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with Nick Atyia officiating. Burial will follow at the Seminole Nation and Veteran’s National Cemetery in Seminole.
