Lena Bemo

Long time Wewoka resident, Lena Mae Bemo,79, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed from this life surrounded by her family on July 16, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on October 29, 1939 to the late Jenkie Thomas and Louise Roberts, and was raised by her late grandparents Chick and Nancy Roberts in the Nuyaka Indian Community.

Preceding Lena in death are her parents, husband, sister Rosella White, daughter-in-law Genelle Bemo, grandson Christopher Bemo.

Those left to cherish Lena’s memories are her children Warren Lee Bemo of Sapulpa, OK, Luann Bear of Okmulgee, OK, Rhea Bearbow of Keys, OK, and Von Leigh “Skeet” Bemo of Okmulgee, Ok, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Honorary pall bearers will be Danny Cully, Roland Roberts, Raymond Lowe, Robbie Roberts, Frisco Yargee, Amon Yargee, Skipper Roberts, Tuffy Roberts, and Jeffery Osborn.

Pall bearers will be Chris Leaf, Robert Coffey, Ken Zachary, Opothle Yahola, Scott Lowe and Buster Lowe.

Wake service will be Friday, July 19, 2019 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2019 at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa officiated by Jimsey Harjo and burial to follow at Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
