Sharon Fay Willingham
Sharon Fay Willingham, age 72, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on April 8, 2021 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born July 15, 1948 in Yuma, Arizona to Merel Spence and Mary (Love) Spence. She grew up in Yuma and moved to Oklahoma with her family as a teen where she lived out the rest of her life. Sharon graduated from Walters High School in 1967.
Sharon was a homemaker and loved gardening, arts and crafts, sewing, woodwork, rebuilding antique sewing machines and helping those less fortunate. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole. She helped with the summer lunch program, built sets for the reading program at the library and delivered vegetables and meals to the elderly at her church. She was a good Christian woman who loved her family and anyone she helped. She had such a big heart and everyone who came in contact with her was better for it. She gave her whole heart when doing anything. She was an angel to all the family and friends on earth and she has her wings now like a proper angel watching over them.
Sharon married Donald R. Willingham on November 20, 1992 at the Bible Baptist Church in Walters, Oklahoma and he survives her of the home in Seminole. She is also survived by her daughters; Paula Penrod of Temple, Oklahoma and Sherri Cartonia of Norfolk, Virginia, her brother; Johnny Spence of Walters, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Russell L. Gaines and Braeden P. Gaines and great-grandchildren; Junior, Zoey and Benny Gaines. She was preceded in death by her father, Merel Spence, her mother, Mary Rover, her sister; Marsha Carson and her brother; Mikel Spence.
Viewing and visitation for Sharon will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
A Celebration of Life Service honoring Sharon will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Pastor Nick Atyia officiating.
