Matthew Orsburn
Matthew “Matt” Orsburn, Shawnee resident, passed away on January 15, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Matt was born on July 6, 1983 in Seminole, OK to Joe and Joy (Hallmark) Orsburn. Matt worked as a LPN and took great pride in his work.
Matt was married to Cori Orsburn and had three children. While studying to become an LPN, Matt was very involved in HOSA with the VoTech, which shapes student leadership skills. He had the honor of traveling to Washington D.C. and Florida with HOSA. Matt had a sensitive nature and possessed the gift of empathy which served him well in his LPN work. He was very family oriented and loved spending time outdoors with his children. Matt had a genuine good heart and was very respectful of his elders, especially his grandmother, Fern Cecil, affectionately known as “Nanny”. He enjoyed listening to music, watching football, and was passionate about watching and learning from Shark Week to feed his love for the ocean. Matt liked fishing and camping and truly appreciated the skill of target shooting both gun and archery. One of his favorite holiday’s to celebrate was 4th of July. He always tried so hard to make that a memorable celebration with his children and family.
Matt is survived by his wife, Cori Orsburn; two sons, Jaden Orsburn and Toby Orsburn; daughter, Mackenzie Orsburn; mother and step-father, Joy and Mike Davis; father, Joe Orsburn; sister, Heather Orsburn; niece, Mileaha Orsburn; maternal grandmother, Fern Cecil “Nanny” and many other family and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tony Hallmark and brother, Michael Orsburn.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Little Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma, with Bro. Mitch Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
