Leola Hardwick

Leola Marie (Island) Hardwick transitioned to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Leola was born on November 1, 1944in Jones, OK to Joe Island Sr. and Annie (Shelton) Island.

She graduated from New Lima High School in New Lima, OK.

She met and married Frenchie Lee Hardwick in 1964.

Leola worked at Wewoka Memorial Hospital, Vickie’s Nutrition Store for 22 years and retired with 34 years at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman ,OK.

Preceding Leola in death are her parents, brothers Joe Island Jr and Sylvester Ray Island, two sisters Ardelia Gordon and Hattie Mae Laney.

Leola leaves to cherish her memories children LaRhonda Carol Minter-Davis, Conchita Kaye (Ron) Hardwick, Zeta Leanette (Frank) Calvert and Markus Scott (Ebony) Hardwick. Siblings Oscar (Bobbie) Island, Leafus Island, Vera Taylor, Rosie Mae Woodford, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wilmer Cooper officiating and burial at Lima Cemetery.
