Jimsey Harjo, age 70, a resident of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away July 16 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jimsey was born February 28, 1950 in Sasakwa, Ok to Jonah Muska Harjo and Effie Lena (Carpitcher) Harjo.
Jimsey married the love of his life Betsy (Walters) Harjo on December 17, 1970 in Wewoka, Ok.
After high school, he went to work in the railroad field until 1974 and then started work at Ackers, in Wewoka for 34 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Betsy Harjo of the home. Four daughters; Cynthia Johnson, Teresa Harjo, Jennifer Harjo, Kimberly Harjo. two sisters; Michele Harjo and Melissa Johnson, both of Wewoka. Eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joann Harjo, brother, Michael (Chebonee) Harjo, and one grandson, Cemse J Harjo-Tiger.
Viewing will be Monday evening July 20, 2020, Tuesday July 21, 2020 at the family home.
Wake Service will be Wednesday July 22, 2020 at 7pm at the family home.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday July 23, 2020 at The Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Harjo and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Interment at Wilson Harjo Cemetery Sasakwa, Ok.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
