Martha Mooney

Martha L e e Mooney, 80, passed away,

Friday, June 21, 2019 at

Cornerstone Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Martha was born July 17, 1938 in rural Seminole County, Oklahoma, to Irene C. (Cornelius) Miller and Dixie Alec Miller.  Martha was a member of the Seminole/Creek Tribes of Oklahoma.

Martha entered the United States Navy at an early age and attained the rank of E-4.

Martha is survived by her son George Mooney and his wife Tammy of Seminole, Oklahoma, her daughter; Kathy Gardenhire and her husband Randy of Elmore City, Oklahoma, one brother Josey Miller and his wife Nita Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma, two sisters; Karen Miller of Seminole, Oklahoma and Josephine Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma, two sisters-in-law; Carol Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Esther Miller of Aurora, Colorado, two grandchildren; Cynthia Mooney and Joshua Mooney and two great-grandchildren; Angelo Jiles and Alayva Jiles and host of nieces, nephew, great nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings; George Miller, Alan Miller, Billy Miller, Joaquin Miller, Kathy Miller and Francis (Miller) Peacore, Pauline Miller and Baby Miller.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Hobia officiating.

The Seminole Nation Honor Guard will present the family with an American Flag at the Memorial Service.

Honorary bearers will be Alvin Miller, Alex Miller, Steven Stone, Josiah Miller, Quincy Brown, Roger Jones and Joseph Miller.

Cremation Memorial Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
