Bowling Thomas “Tommy” Dean Bowling, lifelong Seminole County resident, passed away at the age of 73 at his home in Wewoka, Oklahoma on July 3, 2024. He was born July 28, 1950 in Cushing, Oklahoma to W.R. “Buster” and Tillums “Tillie” LaJoy (Yancey) Bowling. Tommy attended Seminole schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1969.

Tommy served his country in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. He served a tour in Vietnam from May 1971 to April 1972. He was a police officer at the Seminole Police Department from 1975 to 1977 and was a reserve officer for 20 years. He worked in the oil industry for many years.

Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing and going to the lake where he enjoyed playing Farkle with the boys. He really loved being with his family, especially his grandkids and his friends.

Left to cherish Tommy’s memory are his children; Blake Bowling and his wife Ashley of Seminole, Oklahoma and Breane Griffith and her husband Zach of Wewoka, Oklahoma, his brother; Ray Bowling and his wife Linda of Yukon, Oklahoma, his grandchildren; Landon Bowling, Ava Henry and Doss, Lane and Tilly Griffith and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Becky Roberts.

Viewing for Tommy will be from 8:00 a.m., to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6 and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services for Tommy will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at New Life Church in Wewoka, Oklahoma with Tommy Azlin officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
