Former Seminole resident, Steven Lavell Moore, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Tulsa.

Steve, the son of Archie and Louise (Heffley) Moore, was born October 23, 1954, in Seminole. He graduated high school with the Bowlegs High School, class of 1972. Steve proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. As a member of the military police, Steve started the first mounted MP division on the Philippines, while stationed there. After leaving the air force, Steve came home and helped build a successful pipeline contracting business. He then moved to Arkansas and raised chickens for Tyson. Then Steve started working in the oil and gas industry, and also off shore. Steve lived a happy quiet life in the mountains of southeastern Oklahoma, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dessie Long, and Laura Williams.

Steve is survived by three sons, Steven John Moore of Oklahoma, and Cory Don Moore of Colorado, and Kraig Van Brunt of Oklahoma, and daughter Amber Van Brunt of Oklahoma; brothers, Larry Greenwood of Muse Oklahoma, Glen Moore of Seminole and Timothy Moore of Tahlequah; a sister, Ladonna Barner, of Stidham, OK; 7 grandchildren, Stevie Mathews, Houston Moore, Trinity Moore, Madison Van Brunt, Kash Van Brunt, Beckham Collins and Shepherd Van Brunt; 1 great grandchild, Callahan Mathews; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be Monday, May 6, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Bill Chesser officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
