Scotty Simons
Scotty Duane Simons, longtime Maud resident, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 11, 2021 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 41. He was born May 7, 1979 in Seminole to Randy and Janet (Cecil) Simons. Scotty graduated from Maud High School in 1997.
He loved playing horseshoes, going to the lake and fishing. Scotty always looked forward to spending time with family cooking out and joking around with everyone made him happy. He was loved and will truly be missed by all.
Survivors include his parents, Randy and Janet Simons of Maud; brothers, Gary Simons and wife Angie and Ricky Simons and wife Amy all of Seminole; his sister, Leslie Bates and husband Patrick of Maud; aunts, Kesandra Sneed of Ft. Smith, Ark,, Christie McKee of Seminole, Sue Webster of Tecumseh and Ruth Driskell of Shawnee; uncles, Eddie Cecil of Maud, Chad Cecil of Bethel and Lee Roy Simons of Shawnee; nieces, Hailey Simons, Kailey Simons and Alicia Simons all of Seminole and Rya’Lynn Simons of Maud; nephews, Michael Schultz and Tyson Schultz of Maud and Nick Simons, Kobe Simons and Dayton Simons all of Seminole; special friend, Leslie Underwood and a host of friends.
Scotty was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Minnie Belle Wood Pierce and Ramona Simons and grandfathers, Bill Cecil and Blackie Simons.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Cummings Cemetery in Maud. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Simons, Ricky Simons, Nicky Simons, Kobe Simons, Patrick Bates, Michael Schultz, Tyson Schultz and Dayton Simons. Honorary bearers will be JD Wilcox, Mike White, Marshall Turnbow, Dylan Thomas, Eddie Cecil, Timothy Fry, Chad Cecil, Casey Hicks and Jerry Scald.
Scotty’s body will be taken to his family’s home located at 301 E. Main in Maud on Tuesday evening and will remain there prior to the service.
