Sampson Johnson

Sampson Johnson was born in Allen, OK on May 27, 1929 to Ebatamby (Eddie) and Ethel May (Gibson) Johnson. Sampson won his race and received his crown of jewels on January 5, 2023 in Seminole, OK.

On November 19, 1954 Sam married Lucille (Harjo) Johnson. Together they had 7 children, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille (Harjo) Johnson, daughters, Laverna Sue and Linda Sue Ellis, sisters, Lefanny (bug) Roberts and Leona Smith Brothers-Joseph Shields and Jeff Johnson Grandson- J.R. (Mekko) Williams Sam is survived by: Daughters, Carolyn (Johnson) Williams of Wewoka, OK Tamina (Johnson) Downey of Maud Sons, Sonny & Ramona Johnson of Maud Eddie & Brenda Johnson of Seminole Mark Johnson of Wewoka Chuck & Christie Johnson of Wewoka Daughter-like Granddaughter Denea White-Burgess and RB Burgess of Seminole And a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Wake service will be from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, OK.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2023 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Osborne Roberts officiating, assisted by Pastor Roy Chappel and Pastor Paul Fixico. Interment to follow at Harjo.
