Ruba Gene “R.G.” Wise Talamasey

Seminole resident, Ruba Gene “R.G.” Wise Talamasey, 75, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, in Oklahoma City.

R.G., the son of Andy and Jonah (Johnson) Wise Talamasey, was born September 18, 1948, in Seminole County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wewoka High School with the class of 1966. R.G. proudly served in the US Army and fought in Vietnam. On September 20, 1968, he married Charlene Griffin in Holdenville. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and he would help anyone at any time.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by Margaret Gopher, Angel Factor, Linda Jones, Andrew Wise Talamasey, Kennedy Wise Talamasey, and Ellis Wise Talamasey Jr.

R.G. is survived by his wife, Charlene, of the home; sons and daughters- in-law, Ruban Wise Talamasey, of Earlsboro, Jeremiah and Alisha Wise Talamasey, of Noble, and Brendan and Crystal Wise Talamasey, of Shawnee; daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Wise Talamasey and Carsie Gorman IV, of Seminole, Tammy Wise Talamasey, of Seminole, and Shawna Wise Talamasey, of Seminole; brother and sister-in-law, Houston and Mary Wise Talamasey, of Bowlegs; 14 grandchildren, Carsie Gorman V, Damien Hobia, Justice Wise Talamasey, Katevce Wise Talamasey, Genesis Wise Talamasey, Zachary Wise Talamasey, Jordan Wise Talamasey, Mallorie Wise Talamasey, Elias Price, Bobby Price, Ebony Wise Talamsey, Malia Wise Talamasey, Shaine Simpson, and Maggie McCulley; 6 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Casket bearers are Nick Haney, Coz Gorman, Zachary Talamasey, Katevce Talamasey, Carsie Gorman V, and Damien Hobia. With Elias and Bobby Price serving as honorary casket bearers.

A wake will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Houston Tiger and Randy Colbert officiating. Interment will be Thursday, November 16, at 11:00 A.M. at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
