Richard Wurtz

Richard "Rick" Jerome Wurtz was born on October 22, 1958 to JoAnne Smith and Jerry Wurtz. He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1976. Richard loved roofing and oilfield. He also became a truck driver in 1986. He was also employed with Wrangler for 10 years. Then, he went back to truck driving where he left us way too soon on Wednesday, May 30th, 2021, at the age of 62.

Richard is survived by his parents Joanne Smith and Jerry Wurtz from Wewoka, OK, his wife Tonya Wurtz from Wewoka, OK, his siblings Matthew and Shannon Smith from Crowell, OK, Debrae and Pat Brumley from Wewoka, OK, Sherri Jackson from Wewoka, OK, and Gray Wurtz from Wewoka, OK, his children Robert Silva, Railyn Sanderson, and Richard (Ricky) Wurtz, Shannon and Marcus Hill from Wewoka, Ok, and Tiffany Wurtz, and Avondre Bruner.

Funeral service will at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Reverend Reginald Woods Sr. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to truckersfinalmile.org.
