Rev. Edgar Leonard “Ed” Bray, age 85 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away February 15, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church located at 129 S. Broadway in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Casket bearers are the men of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa. The Cross Timbers Church Band will host a Special Time of Singing and Celebration of Life for Bro. Ed at 6:00 p.m. Monday Night, February 19th at Cross Timbers Church.

Bro. Bray was born November 30, 1938 in Maxwell, Oklahoma to W. C. Bray, Sr. and Gladys (Blevins) Bray. He grew up at Oil Center and attended Summers Chapel School. He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1957. He retired from K-10 Television Station after forty-two years of employment. His career at K-10 began at the original location north of Ada. Bro. Ed was the founding pastor of Fellowship Church which became Cross Timbers Church of Konawa. The church will celebrate its 40th year this year. He was the pastor of Cross Timbers Church until now and preached his last sermon at the church on February 4th.

He is survived by his church family; two sisters, Gwen Paxson and Joy Johnson, both of Ada, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other friends throughout the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Julian Bray; three sisters, Leola Roberts, Amy Conington, and Mildred Cooper; three brothers, Ewert Bray, Berlin Bray, and W. C. Bray, Jr.
