Nancy Davis
Seminole resident, Nancy Ellen Davis, was born May 19, 1966 in Seminole to Wayne and Imogene (Pinkerton) Thomas. She graduated from Varnum High School with the class of 1984, where she was involved in basketball and softball.
Nancy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies with honors from East Central University. Nancy worked for the Social Security Administration in the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review; first for the Oklahoma City office and then, from the Fort Worth office where she worked until her retirement. On October 11, 2003 she married John Lynn Davis, Jr., at the Lometa United Methodist Church in Lometa, Texas. After her retirement from the Social Security Administration in 2008, she and her husband moved back to Seminole to help take care of her mother. Nancy loved animals. In place of children, their household had first cats then dogs. Her favorite was a miniature rat terrier named Baggins. She enjoyed listening to music, especially country, gospel and classic rock and roll, especially Elvis Presley. She loved going to concerts, especially with her husband. She made a point to get her hair and nails done every month. She had different interests; cooking especially spaghetti, crocheting, flowers, jewelry and she even had plans to learn how to play the guitar. She was a member of the Seminole First United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved with the United Methodist Women.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John Lynn Davis; mother, Imogene Thomas; brother, Larry Thomas; nephews, Sam Thomas and Josh Thomas and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Seminole First United Methodist Church with Pastor Lamarla Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
