Nadine Sneed
Sneed Nadine Sneed, Seminole, OK resident passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in Seminole at the age of 91. She was born October 28, 1933 to Carl and Ruby Riddle in Seminole. Other than briefly living in Chicago, Nadine spent all of her life in Seminole. Her father was killed by a drunk driver when she was only three. Ruby married Ben Winn in 1939 and he brought with him two children, Betty Lou and Bill Winn. Clarence’s arrival in 1941 made for a blended family. Nadine was a 1951 graduate of Varnum High School. In her early years she worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell and was an exceptional homemaker and mother. She took care of everyone, family, friends and neighbors. Nadine met the love of her life, Tommy Sneed Sr. and they were married on November 16, 1952. Together they raised three beautiful children.
Nadine loved life. She loved her large and extended family – Sneed, Gentry, Lofton, Crews and Winn, and they were her greatest treasure. She took great joy in cooking although seldom followed a recipe, gardening, playing cards, and visiting the casino. Nadine loved to dance. In fact, she and Tommy built a successful dance hall in Newkirk, OK hosting many famous country music stars. She and her gift of a green thumb could take a handful of seeds and turn it into a beautiful thriving garden. Nadine could fish for hours, and no one could out fish her. She would just turn on the headlights if the fish were biting. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Nadine was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority. Nadine loved BIG and cared for many loved ones over the years. Her family will miss her and all her beloved silliness. To know Nadine was to love her.
Nadine is survived by her son and daughter-inlaw, Tommy and Michele Sneed of Seminole, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Timmye and Jim Porter of Oklahoma City, OK; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Alta Winn; two grandchildren, Katie Samples and Ashley Calvert and husband, Chris; great grandsons and her pride and joy, Ryder and Ryan Calvert and many other family and friends including her special friend Bill Clark.
