Mickey Gearl Lipe

Lipe Mickey Gearl Lipe, age 92, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in his home July 3, 2024. He was born December 7, 1931 in Spaulding, Oklahoma to Delmus Gerome and Myrtle Mae Jackson.

Mickey was raised in Holdenville, Oklahoma and graduated from Holdenville High School class of 1949.

He married Carole Newton and had 5 children. He later married Jacqueline Ann Davis and they had 2 children.

In 1957, he started at the Seminole Producer where he worked for 4 years before establishing his life long career as a buyer for Newton Wall Company in 1961. He worked there for over 50 years and retired when he was 80 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmus Gerome; mother, Myrtle Mae Jackson; wife, Jacqueline Ann Lipe; brother, Sonny Lipe; sister, Mary Lou Powell; sister, Helen Carpenter; daughter, Ramona Scrutchins; sonin- law, Dino Ainesworth and granddaughter, Laura Adcock.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Art Scrutchins of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughter, Belinda Hobbs of Shawnee, Oklahoma; son, Mark Lipe and wife Cheryl Lipe of Arcadia, Oklahoma; daughter, Lisa Lipe-Gillaspy-McMakin and husband Matt McMackin of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Laura Stepp and husband Kaleb Stepp of Bowie, Texas; daughter, Leslie Ainesworth of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughter, Marcie Meeks and husband Mark Meeks of Seminole, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members.

Mickey loved to be at Lake Eufaula any chance he could get. He was a pro skier on the water. He loved any kind of sports, fishing and was in several bowling leagues. He also was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend and his favorite title was papaw Mickey. He was a legend and they just don’t make em’ like him anymore.

A memorial ceremony will be held at Walker Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
