Michael Kerr
Kerr Prague resident, Michael (Mike) Boyd Kerr, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Prague with his daughters by his side.
Mike, the son of Ernest and Margaret (Morelock) Kerr, was born January 16, 1951, in Guymon, Oklahoma. Mike graduated from high school in Southgate, California, with the class of 1969. By trade Mike worked as a Transmission mechanic for many years, he was known to be one of the best transmission mechanics around. Later in life, until retirement he was a production manager for the RW Lyall Company/ Uponor Company, working for several years in Shawnee and in Seminole. Mike found peace and joy riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed going to the lake and fishing, he loved huge cookouts and get togethers, but nothing brought him the same pride as spending time with his family and friends and his beloved dog Jaxx.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Margaret Kerr; and brothers, Joe Kerr, and Stanley Kerr and his very best friend and brother- inlaw Frank Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory are Daughters: Rebecca Parks of Prague, Liz Blocker and husband Mike of Prague, Jenny Kerr, and Jonathan Osborn, of Prague. Sons: Henry Arthur of Prague and Ricky Kerr of Prague. Grandchildren: Brylee Channon and Kiran Quintero, Allie Mayfield, Heather and Matt Dearinger, Samatha Roberts and Anthony Bevilacqua, Garret Gibson, Cayden and Emily Hammock, Rachel Rumsey, Mitchell Arthur, and Brody Arthur. Great Grandchildren: Daxton Arthur Watts, Zoey Ryerson, Maxx Dearinger, McKenzie Roberts, and Gavin Roberts. Siblings: Ronald Kerr and his wife, Nancy of Edmond, William “Dexter” Kerr and his wife, Sandra of Lincoln, AR, and Craig Kerr and his wife, Susan of Prague; Tina Powell and her husband Phillip of Eufaula, and Rosalie West of Tulsa and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 29, 2024, in Memory of our Dad at The Prague Park from 1:00 to 6:00 pm in the area where the Frank Martin Memorial is. There will be a huge cook-out, video tribute and everything to remember the life of our Dad.
We would like to personally thank the Nurses, the staff and especially the Respiratory Therapists of the Prague Hospital. You all were the BEST to our Dad. You made his last days so much more at peace for him and us and we will forever be grateful to you.
