Michael “Mike “Ted Gordon, 74, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on, Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home in Seminole. Mike was born on August 6, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Glenn Gordon and Janet Genio DeGraffenreid. Mike grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma where he attended school. He had lived in several places during his life, including, Lindsey, Oklahoma, Pratt, Great Bend and Wichita, Kansas, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before moving to Seminole in 1973. He also lived in Eufaula and Marietta, Oklahoma for job transfers.

Mike worked for several different oil companies and oil related jobs most of his life. He worked for Mid-Continent Oil, B.J. Hughes, Western Company, Seminole Acid and retired from Cudd Energy Services. Mike also owned his own oil business, “Gordon’s Packer Service” for 5 years. He had also spent a few years as a cross country truck driver.

Mike enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, Oklahoma University football, golf, exploring backroads, taking short cuts that turned into hours of driving, jeeping, boating, grilling, smoking meats and a great steak. He loved to argue about politics, spending time with his grandkids, and outside watching wildlife in the back yard.

Mike married Nancy Lee (Hill) Gordon, on April 15, 1974 in Denison, Texas, when they joined as one family, Mike and his two sons and Nancy and her son and daughter for 48 years together.

Mike was a good Christian man, husband and father. He was a member of the Bowlegs First Assembly of God Church. Mike battled bone cancer the last 3 years of his life and will be missed and remembered by many.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Nancy Gordon of the home, two sons Shawn and Mimi Gordon of Lutz, Florida and Chris and Charlie Gordon of Seminole, Oklahoma and his daughter Shelly Daigneault of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two sisters Glenette Rogers and Julia and Glen Branch, his grandchildren; Taylor Herrero, Amanda Gordon, Megan Milliser, Kayli Stamper, Grace Collier, Kristin and Letha Gordon and his only grandson Jesse Jones, his great-grandchildren, Maddox, Remi and Riggs Herrerro, and Archer and Waverly Hicks, daughterin- law Karen Jones, step grandsons, Levi Croce and Christopher Cavvitt, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Janet Gordon, his sister Jana Earp, and his son Jackie Allen Jones.

The family will have a private family Celebration of Life Service to honor Mike. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of Cremation arrangements.
