Lorraine Fish

Lorraine “Exie” Sue Fish was born on February 27, 1944 to Noah K. Fish and Elizabeth Fish (Coker) of Wewoka, OK.

She is the granddaughter of first Seminole Light-horseman and Chief, Chili Fish, and wife Ellen Fish (Thompson).

She departed this earth on October 1, 2020 and we rejoice as she was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. She is awaited by her brother, Noah Fish, and sister, Shirley Fish.

Exie was a Minister, ordained in the Assemblies of God, Evangelist, and for a period of time Pastored the North Rock Creek Assembly of God. Throughout her lifetime, Exie served in churches near, far, and wide.

She was just a child when she received her calling from the Lord and dedicated her entire life, heart, and soul to serving him and spreading his word. She started traveling to revivals as a teenager and for decades she traveled all over the country participating and preaching in revivals. Within the past decade, Exie dedicated her time to preaching, playing and teaching piano, singing, substitute teaching, tutoring and as a fluent speaker of the Muscogee Creek language, she helped jumpstart the Seminole Nation immersion school, Pumvhakv.

Exie attended New Model Elementary School, graduated from Wewoka High School, and attended East Central State Teachers College, Oklahoma State University, and Bacone College. In addition she held a certification as a nurse’s Aid.

She lovingly cared for her cat, Babi, and often enjoyed spending time with family and visiting friends. She liked to write songs, sing and loved to journal. Her voice, presence, strength, and kind heart will be miss until we see her again. Cehevres (see you later)

Due to pandemic risks, an internment only will take place at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery. A Memorial Service/ Celebration of Life for Exie will be held Spring of 2021. Please email Chelsea.e.fish@gmail.com to receive more information and updates.
