McQuown

Lora Lea McQuown (Morgan) also known as Lulu Perkins, 51, of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, from complications of Huntington’s Disease and End Stage Renal Disease.

Lora was born August 30, 1970 to Willa Lee Freeman (Eddings) & Daniel Clinton Morgan in Harrison, AR. She attended school in St. Joe & Harrison, AR and graduated from Harrison Sr. High in 1988. She later attended Devry University in Dallas,TX.

She made her way at the young age of 16 working in the food service industry until becoming manager and later landing a job at American Freightways in Harrison, AR. She then transferred and moved to Dallas where she became a sales supervisor and always worked in the trucking industry. At 32 she met the love of her life, Joe McQuown through work and moved to Oklahoma where her dreams of living on a ranch came true.

Lora was born a country girl & spent most of her days riding horses or any outdoor activities such as riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, hiking, boating of any kind (especially her jet-ski), cleaning up property, or simply sitting on the porch with a glass of sweet tea. She loved to go dancing, travel, ride all the rides at an amusement park, and throw the best parties. Lora had many talents & hobbies like sewing, crafting, writing, redesigning & remodeling her home, she even played the bass guitar. She loved music and would sing along to every song and if she didn’t know the words, she would make them up and just go with it. Lora was a force to be reckoned with, she did anything she set her mind to and could hang with the best of them, even the men. She was the light in every room that she walked into and you always knew she was there by her echoing laughter.

Life wasn’t easy for her growing up, and in adulthood, she fell victim to Huntington’s Disease & kidney failure. In spite of her challenges, she was a fighter, and she never gave up. In her darkest hours, she’d find reasons to smile, make jokes and be kind to others. She loved her children and family very much & included them in all the things she loved most. She had a beautiful smile and an even more beautiful heart that will be missed beyond measure.

Lora is survived by the love of her life, Joe McQuown of Konawa, OK. Her children, daughter Ashley Yerby (McBee) and her husband Matt Yerby of Wolf, OK and their children, Madilyn & Abigail. Son, Michael McBee & his wife Victoria McBee of Harrison, AR and children Kinslea, Caleb, Everly, & Gracin, son Skyler McBee and his wife Sarah McBee of Indianola, IA, and a honorary daughter, Laura Gonzalez (Hill) and her husband George Gonzalez of Yukon, OK and their daughter Mary. Two siblings, sister Luanna Olson & her husband Doug Olson of Seattle, WA, and brother Eddie Morgan and his wife Maria Morgan of Livingston, TX, and her best friend and cousin, Melissa Sutterfield & her husband David Sutterfield of Green Forrest, AR and several nieces and nephews.
