Lela Jackson

Lela Marie Jackson passed away at the age of 74 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born in Claremore, OK to mother, Loney Cummings and father, Joe Harrison. She was raised in Wewoka, Ok. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1973 and married Jimmie Joe Jackson on September 12, 1973.

Lela is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie, mother Loney, father Joe and infant daughter, son-in law Gary Penny and siblings: Annie Mae, John and Willie Spencer, Joseph Harjo, Irene Conley and Pearline Yahola.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Penny and James Mobley and six granchidren, Christian and Garrin Penny, Jason and wife Christin, Aaron and wife Ashley, Alex and wife Lucy and Michael Mobley, two great - grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. One nephew Roy Carpitcher and niece Ruby Hill that were very close growing up.

Pallbearers will be; George Tiger, Benny Tiger Sr., Jason Mobley, Michael Mobley, Alex Mobley and Tim Harjo. Honorary bearers; Garrin Penny, Christian Penny and Roy Carpitcher.

Wake service will be held Monday, August 19th 7:30 p.m. at the Sand Creek Church in Wewoka. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 20th 2:00 p.m. at Sand Creek Church. Burial will follow at the West Cemetery north of Holdenville.
