Waller

Lavina “Kay” Waller, Seminole resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 79. Kay was born on August 31, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack and Jessie Marie (Kidd) King. She grew up in Woodward and Oklahoma City. She was a 1962 graduate of John Marshal High School. Kay always attended the Alumni get togethers with her Woodward Classmates.

Kay loved horses. When she married, she and Max spend their time rodeoing. She barrel raced and Max rode bulls and team roped. Kay was a member of the Senior Pro Rodeo Association. As they raised their children they all learned to ride and Kay loved taking the kids to play days. She taught all of her grandchildren to ride and loved to video them. She was a stay at home mom and would milk cows and goats and sell eggs for extra income. Kay started driving the school bus so she could spend time with the kids. She drove the activity bus so she could make all of the sporting events. Kay loved driving the bus and loved all of the students that rode her bus. She retired after driving for 30 years. When Kay would get excited or was getting on to the children about something she would yell “Lyle”, the first name that came to her mind. Her family thinks it’s because while the kids were growing up she was always having to say his name to get his attention. Lyle was the middle child. Kay was always excited when people would tell her about any accomplishment. She always made you feel good about yourself. No matter who you were she called you honey. She loved her cats. She always talked about how each one had a different personality; Teardrop, “Girl”, Tiger, Snowball and Callie. She had many friends that she would talk to daily. They were very special to her and always made her day. She loved her family dearly and always made sure they knew. Gardening was a favorite of hers and she loved flowers of all kinds.

Kay is survived by her two sons, Lyle Ray Waller and wife, Dina of Wewoka, OK and Les Bryan Waller and wife, Misty of Wewoka; daughter, Laciona Ann (Waller) LeMay and husband, Tony J. of Seminole, OK; two brothers, Steve King of Oklahoma City, OK and Dana King of New York; sister, Ann Marie Bledsoe and husband, Joel of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, London Waller and wife Naci, Ty Le May, Toby LeMay and wife, Rosalie, Kaylee LeMay, Laken (Waller) Roach and husband, Dakota, Lauryn Waller and Lawson Waller; two great grandchildren, Gracelynn Roach and Baby LeMay and many other family and friends.
