Former Seminole resident, Keith Inman ( 8 6 ) passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

He was born in Asher, Oklahoma, but raised in Konawa, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Konawa High school and then married Charlotte Melton, in 1952, who preceded him in death in 2007.

At the time of death, he was living in Choctaw, OK, having married Beverly Ford, who he leaves behind. He loved his family very much. Keith leaves behind family members, 2 sons, Roger Inman and his wife Melody, Larry Inman and his wife Sandy, a stepson Shannon Ford and his wife Katie, and a stepdaughter Angela Wooten and her spouse Teddy and “like a son” David Lawyer and his wife Susan. The pride of his life was his grandchildren, Ashleigh, John and Tim Inman as well as step-grandchildren Sarah Clanton, Dusty and Billy Wooten, and Cameron and Carson Ford. He also had seven great grandchildren, 3 boys and 4 girls.

Keith’s career was spent in the grocery business, having worked at the Standard Food Market, later called Humpty Dumpty, where he was the store manager, in Seminole for many years. He also worked for grocery wholesaler Scrivner, Inc. in the wholesale and retail division as a district manager. He owned the Wewoka Red Bud food store, in Wewoka, OK, during the late 1970’s. He retired from the Piggly Wiggly Corporation, Memphis, Tennessee.

He loved Seminole and served his community in several ways. He was very active in his early years coaching little league baseball for both Larry and Roger. He influenced many young boys during his time of coaching that made a lasting impact on them. He was involved in the Tiny Chief football program, holding the position of President of the Quarterback Club.

He was elected to the Seminole School Board in 1966 and served there until 1977. During that time, he was instrumental in the hiring of Boyd Linduff as head basketball coach, Jim Webb as football coach and Wayne Estes as football coach. He loved Seminole athletics, especially football, and was very involved in fund raising efforts during those years. As well, he was instrumental in the move of Seminole State, then Seminole Junior College, from the high school to its present location.

Keith was an avid OU Sooner fan, having season tickets for many years. The first OU game he attended was in the 1950’s when you could walk up to the ticket counter and get a ticket for the game at the “outrageous price” of $4.75 to see OU play Kansas State. He was not happy about the upcoming move of OU to the SEC because he did not have fond feelings for the SEC.

Quail hunting was a great passion of his. He loved the thrill of the hunt especially watching the dogs work. Going to hunt in the Cheyenne, Oklahoma, area was his favorite spot. Not only did he love his bird dogs, but he also loved all the dogs he ever owned. They didn’t live a dog’s life.

Keith served in the Oklahoma National Guard, the 45th Infantry Division for seventeen years, serving units in Konawa, Ada, and Okemah, reaching the rank of Sergeant Major.

Upon his marriage to Beverly, Keith was faithful to attend worship with her at the Oakcrest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, OK.

For several years, he enjoyed having the Inman Family Reunion at his house in Quail Run. He seemed to be the happiest when all his brothers, sister, sons, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were there as they enjoyed making homemade ice cream and just loving on one another.

Today, he is enjoying a great reunion with so many of those family members that went ahead of him. As per his request, there will be no services.
