Kathryn Straughn

Kathryn Louise (Wilson) Straughn, age 81, a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away March 11, 2022 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Konawa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. There will be a gathering at the church, prior to the service, beginning at Noon for family and friends.

A private, family burial will be held at Konawa Cemetery afterwards.

Born December 11, 1940 in Konawa, the third child of Robert Franklin Wilson and Lydia Pearl (Coursey) Wilson.

She graduated from Konawa High School in 1958. She worked in Accounting and Taxes, to Real Estate, the Activities Director for a Salvation Army Senior Center, to owner and editor of the Del City News.

She is survived by her sister, Nelma Burns, of Konawa; her daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” Lynn (Campbell) Barker of Sherman, Texas; son, John Robert Straughn of Era, Texas; son, Jeremy Wayne Bridges of Chipley, Florida; daughter, Robin Rene’ (Straughn) Williams Richard Wesley of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter Kara Elizabeth (Straughn) Hill of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Kayla Jane Williams.
