Jimmy Lee Stillwell
Stillwell Jimmy Lee Stillwell passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 65. He was born on December 7, 1958 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Earnest and Mable Stillwell. He attended Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in May, 1977.
Jimmy was honorably discharged from the United States Navy on March 4, 1980 with a certificate as a testimony of honest and faithful service. During his service, he received certificates of training, several letters of appreciation and course completion certificates. He also received a certificate in recognition of ten years of service in the Government of the United States of America.
He attended Oklahoma State University School of Technical Training and Oklahoma Baptist University where he enrolled in Pastoral Ministry courses. He was a writer and loved writing poems. He was a huge race car fan attending several NASCAR events and a collector of Native American memorabilia.
He received his Certificate of License for the Gospel Ministry and was also Ordained at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was appointed to the office of Deacon and Elder by A.M.E. Zion Church Bishop. He served as the Pastor of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church in Lima, Oklahoma. Jimmy was a charter member of the Oklahoma Conference Lay Council and was the recipient of Certificate of Appointment, Seeds of Faith Worker, African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings: Earnestine Galbreath of Moore, Oklahoma, Earnest Jr. and wife Toni of Seminole, Oklahoma; Janie and husband Lewis Haywood of Moore, Oklahoma; J. Helen and husband Charles Perkins of Cordova, Tennessee; Sheretha Kay Stillwell of Norman, Oklahoma; and Henry Stillwell of Compton, California. He is also survived by an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nephews and nieces, many loving-cousins, Linda Mitchell (special cousin), Jerome and family (a special friend/ family), Seminole classmates, along with a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Mable Stillwell, Shirley Williams (sister), Walter Roper (brother), uncles, aunts, loving-cousins, a nephew and two great-nephews.
Rev. Jimmy Lee Stillwell continued to serve God while ministering to others until his transition.
Jimmy & Family were cared for by Primrose Funeral Services in Norman, Oklahoma.
