Jimmie Lou (Harjo) Harjo, age 65 and a former resident of Seminole county, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

A Wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7th at the Chapel. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery, and Rev. Arthur Carpitcher will officiate.

Jimmie was born May 13, 1955 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Almond Harjo and JoAnne (Wolf) Harjo.

She graduated from Butner High School in Cromwell, Oklahoma.

She was the Tribal Dispatcher for the Tonkawa Police Department.

She married Johnnie Ray Harjo on April 19, 1996 in Konawa.

She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Ray Harjo of the home; one son, James Winford Harjo of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; four daughters, Wythema Porras of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Katie Harjo of Tonkawa, Jalena Harjo of Tonkawa, and Desiree Mitchell also of Tonkawa; two brothers, James Harjo of Tonkawa, and Jeremy Harjo of Ada, Oklahoma; one sister, Juanita Gipson, of Sasakwa, Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Almond and JoAnne Harjo; two daughters, Beth and Tisha Harjo; two brothers, Sambo and Richy Harjo; and three sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, Tammy Harjo, and Charlotte Harjo.
